Coach & DOC Ricardo
Started futsal in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 1999 started the Diablo Valley Futsal League in California, in the East Bay area after playing for Macsa Open Men getting the first National Futsal title. Ricardo started the Diablos Academy right after that first National and started to take teams of various age groups to State, Regionals, and Nationals tournaments bringing home many titles. Some of the players were invited to be part of the first semi-pro team formed by Diablos. Coach Ricardo managed the team that was coached by Decio L. that led the team to be champions of the first semi-pro league formed in the East Bay Area. Current coaches of other clubs learned Futsal from coach Ricardo that kept his development attending seminars and courses in Brazil and at events hosted by US Futsal Federation. Currently, coach Ricardo is part of the board of US Futsal Federation and also the Director of Coaching where he is preparing a platform to keep training coaches based on the real rules of Futsal.
Coach & Boys' Director Henrique
He is from the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Started with Diablos Academy after the time he started helping the 2010 Boys team in a National Tournament bringing his son Diego to be part of the team. Currently coaches all age groups of Diablos Academy with the help of other coaches. He brought to Diablos Academy his experience of playing futsal at many tournaments as part of the Di Buffala Open-Men team.
Coach & Goalkeeper Trainer Fernando
He is from the state of Goias, Brazil. He has been a soccer and futsal coach for 3 years here in the USA, the same period he has been with the Diablos Academy. In soccer he has been coaching the Kentfield F.C. from Petaluma and San Francisco Club boys and girls. He has had experience coaching kids from 1st grade to high school. He started playing in Brazil at the age of 4 until he was 24 years old. He played for Goias E.C, Vila Nova, and Atletico (all teams from the state of Goias). He loves the competitive style with the high intensity that futsal requires. His main focus is to develop foot skills of the young players. He enjoys developing the organization and connection among players that can be seen during the games. Soccer/futsal has been a huge part of his childhood and he loves sharing his love for the sport with the kids.
Coach & Girls' Director Tafa (Marcia Tafarel)
She is from the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. She has been involved with soccer and futsal participating in important soccer competitions for the Brazilian National Team. She has been involved with Futsal since the 80s when she began playing competitive futsal in Sao Paulo, Brazil for Sabesp Futsal Association. She started coaching in 1997 at Sabesp the U16 and the U18 teams. After moving to the U.S., she continued playing and coaching soccer at different clubs in the Bay Area. She played Futsal at the US Futsal Regionals and Nationals tournaments with a team that included her friend and teammate Sissi. She has been appointed to be the coach of the US Women's Futsal National Team and continues her development and growth attending different courses in Brazil, obtaining Futsal Coach credentials and enhancing her skills through courses with professionals like Marquinhos Xavier (Brazilian Men’s Futsal National coach). She joined the Diablos Academy coaching staff in 2024.
